...it is 70 degrees, by noon! I think I’m gonna take the S-Type R out for a bath this afternoon. The wheels have so much brake dust they look plastidipped.

It was 75 here in south Mississippi yesterday. Right now it is 40 and raining. Ugh.

It briefly bumped up to 40 this morning, so I was quick to power wash the cars.

Now it’s 30, it’ll be 20 by sundown. You gotta take those opportunities when the happen.

It’s -18 here and I think my ABC might be fucked. Ho Ho Ho

What happened now? I don’t understand how your car with less mileage is having more frequent ABC issues than mine. I mean, I had the pump go and my rear valve block is still a little sticky, but that’s not much quantity wise...

I’m 99% sure that it’s a sticky valve. I pretty much just started the car to let it warm up and charge the battery and then turned it off. It was a white warning and there was nothing abnormal about the way it was sitting, with no puddles either. It’s been doing the fairly frequently recently so one it warms up around here I might bring it in for a fluid flush.

Also, I’ve really only had two things go wrong with the ABC, I had a few high pressure lines underneath the engine go and then the accumulators went out and took the reservoir with them.

But didn’t you just get a fluid flush with the accumulators? I thought the service interval for a flush the aftermarket has agreed on is 30,000 miles?

I would think so ! It shouldn’t need a fluid flush this soon, but all the symptoms are pointing to a flush helping immensely. I’d be willing to bet that this all falls back on my rear valve block. When I first bought the car, I had them clean the block up, but maybe a replacement wouldn’t be such a terrible idea.

And the class action suit for these damn cars was for the reed valve...it should have been for the ABC failure rates. How does a closed system make that much debris!?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the guys who designed gen 1 ABC deserve a collective kick in the balls.
